THE MISSION OF ORA ACADEMY

ORA ACADEMY is an Orthodox High School located in Rochester, New York. The academy has been established to serve the educational needs of young Jewish women throughout the United States and Canada. Dormitory facilities or boarding arrangements are available for out of town students.

Ora Academy is committed to the pursuit of the following objectives:

Promoting lifelong commitment to Torah study and observance in a warm, caring environment

Enhancing Jewish identity by providing young women with exposure to primary Biblical and exegetical texts

Providing a rigorous, college-preparatory secular education that meets and exceeds New York State requirements for graduation

Forging a bond with Israel and appreciating the pivotal role that Eretz Yisrael plays in the history and future of the Jewish people

Offering special Judaic Studies classes for students who are new to formal Jewish education

Fostering the development of intellectual curiosity and higher order thinking skills

Inspiring personal and ethical growth through the study and integration of Torah values

Preparing young women to take their place as productive members of the Jewish community and the world at large.
